Oil platfom drilling derrick

Can anyone help?? I am looking for infomation regarding the design of oil platform drilling derricks, in particular, the mechanism used to transport the drill around the well matrix.

I understand that the drill sits on a boggie, which shuttles back and forward (East & West direction) on two rails. These on turn engage a second track to provide movement in the North/South direction.

It is the design of this system that i am interested in.

I guess you are talking about "rig skidding". The derrick doesn't really have a boggie but your perfectly correct in saying it sit on 2 pairs of beams at right angles to each other. Basically the rig sits on these large I beams and is moved with a hydraulic clamp and ram arrangement

Clamp the beam, extend the ram (moving the rig), release the clamp, retract the ram and repeat till you are where you want to be. If you do a search for "rig skidding" you will come up with plenty of references.
