Hello everyone!

I require information on how does a oil separator in a petrol station function. My problem here is:

1) During refilling of cars, any drips or spills have to be contained in a demarcated area with a proper oil separator system. As the amount of petrol leaked would be minimal, what is the most cost effective way to filter out all these petrol before they seep into the sewers?

The installation of O/W separators at petrol stations will be specified by the municipal agency (if required).

The O/W separators are underground flow through devices that typical drain to the storm sewer. Some of these "O/W separators" are no more than a concrete box.

The O/W separators are little more than an emergency device than a working unit. If there is no spill, there will be de minimas amounts of oil in the separator.
