Usually there is a plate with the type number, serial number and rating attached somewhere.

At this time they were often brass, and suffered from polishing rubbing the lettering out!

Sorry to be negative, but at this age what do you hope to find out that will be of any use?

Crompton Parknson was taken over by Hawker Siddeley (Brush)in the late 1960's. One of my first tasks as a student apprentice at Brush at that time was trying to help organize the switchgear spares required for Crompton customers. Very difficult when we had the drawing office information, but the shop floor drawings marked up to show how it all went together had been disposed of!

I moved on to rotating machines who had solved the problem by selling off all the drawings and rights. Someone else made a fortune!

There are companies around in the UK who advertise their expertise in Crompton switchgear.

An Internet search may help you, and they may have someone who recognizes your gear.

I am 70 next year, so I am one of the last tenuous links with all this!
