I am looking for section properties on what is being called out as a channel (" [7x3.5 BSC-10 20.3# ") on a set of lattice tower plans. The plans are dated 1958.

Thanks for your efforts in advance.

according to an old carnegie steel manual i have that's a british standard section ship building channel. from the designation you can probably figure out that it's 7" deep with a 3.5" wide flange and weighs 20.3 plf. other properties are:

area of section = 5.9 in^2
web thickness = 0.400 in
strong axis I = 44.2 in^4, r = 2.74 in, s = 12.6 in^3
weak axis I = 6.7 in^4, r = 1.07 in, s = 2.8 in^3, y = 1.09 in

hope that helps.
