We are in the process of retrofitting an old Amada CNC sheet metal punch with a Windows based CNC control unit from CamSoft.

We have just about everything figured out except the wiring to the servo drives. It has two A06B-6042-H102 drives and one A06B-6045-H005-H006 drive.

I need to know what the control wiring connections to this drive. Does anyone have any idea where I might find this information?

I contacted Fanuc and they answered my question, but now I have another.

This drive has a veloctiy command input and a velocity feedback input. Do I really need both? I'm planning on removing the resolver from the motor and install an encoder instead. It seems that the new controller should be able to figure out how much signal to give to the drive depending on what it gets from the encoder.

Thanks for any help.

Suggestion: The feedback was designed for the stable and accurate control. Apparently, the new controller will have the old feedback equivalent that will use the encoder for speed sensing. The new controller tech support might be contacted to participate in the machine modifications.
