I am currently working on a very old and large hydraulic forging manipulator.
We are scheduled to replace all the bronze bushings in this machine. Going over the drawings I noticed material designations I have never encountered before.
One is an Rg13 which I thought was common 660 bronze until I got further into the drawing set and noticed some of these parts were used in a severe duty compression application that would normally call for a high strength bronze.
The other is a neck bushing(soluble oil/water hydraulic) that calls up a G So Ms 60 F 30 material, written this way with the spacing. Both items are bronze today, and most likely 660.
Before I send this project out for quotation, I would like to know what material to specify.
Any help out there??? Being an old coot, I thought I knew everything. Guess I'm still learning.

This machine dates back to World War 2, but the drawings date from around 1909.

Thanks for the help,

BobC

Bob,

Have you gotten any information on your request? I just saw this. I'll be glad to check my resources when I get into work if you still would like information.

I have winged it using the application a guide. I spec'd 954 for the heavy shock items and 660 for the gland bushing type stuff. The previous guy used 660 for everything and this didn't work out so well. Lots of mushrooming and crush failures.
Thank you for the offer, when I get some time I will visit your site,
thanks again,

If you need to upgrade further, consider using 172 beryllium copper
