Hello,

I have a variety of old, oil filled motor starter/contactors, for 300-900hp synchronous motors. They're installed in C-H Motor Control cabinets, that appear to be 50s vintage. I'm looking to see if I can't find any spares, or parts, for these until a proper replacement can be procured.

There are no identifying markings on these, so I was hoping maybe someone here would be able to identify them.

Thank you,

If they are in C-H control cabinets i would almost bet they are Cutler Hammer contactors.

One thing to seriously consider is this: at that vintage, chances are the oil contains PCBs, which will preclude you from doing anything with them until after that has been taken care of, which may cost as much as just hiring the hazmat team to remove and dispose of them. I would take that route and replace them with vacuum contactors if I were you.

jraef,

Read the green label! But I agree about replacing them - oil-filled gear is nasty if it ever has a bad day.

Oops, yeah, I didn't look at all of the file attachments.

No PCBs, as mentioned.

The long-term plan is to replace them, I'm working that plan now. But in the meantime, I was hoping to source a spare contactor and/or parts to maintain these until replacement, as they're production critical equipment.
