Does anyone know of a weblink or site to find a pdf (preferably) of either of these two older bridge seismic guides?:

(1) Guide Specification for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges, AASHTO 1983.

or

(2) Seismic Design Guidelines for Highway Bridges (ATC-6), Applied Technology Council, 1981.

The AASHTO LRFD Bridge Spec references the two under Single-mode spectral analysis as containing examples. The examples are what I am looking for.

Thanks,

civilRoo

I don't have either but attached is Chapter 8 - Design Examples from the 1986 FHWA Seismic Retrofit Manual. There probsbly isn't any major change between them - where's Qshake?. Also attached is the Earthquake specs from the 83 AASHTO with 84 interims.

You could try contacting

or AASHTO. However, the older documents are not readily available from AASHTO.

Looks like you've got things covered, bridgebuster.

I would also recommend the NTIS, National Technical Information Services as where most of the government publications are from. Here's a link:
Also, I seem to recall the older AASHTO having a single mode example in it too as part of the commentary. Too many piles of junk to check for certain.

Hope this helps.

Qshake - time to go paperless or almost paperless. Over the past year I've been converting a lot of things to pdf. One problem though , a lot of 30 year old pages don't scan well.

civilRoo - I was cleaning up some shelves and I found a copy of the

Seismic Design Guidelines for Highway Bridges (ATC-6), Applied Technology Council, 1981.

Do you still need it?
