Here's my dilemma:
1) I need to embed several objects, created from drawing views
2) I need them to update automatically when I save as (whatever format they end up)
3) I need them to come in at the proper scale
So, what I have so far, is this:
1) .gl2 format is perfect for appearance and size, (nice vector format) but cannot be embedded - there is no link to the original object. It's basically a "dumb" drop.
2) PDF format can be embedded, and looks nice, but I cannot find any way to control the size, and it never comes in at the proper scale.
3) Embedding a Catia file in any MS file, and then embedding the MS file as an object works good for update and scale, but is not a vector file! (it looks terrible)
4) all other formats that are available as a "save as" do not work, for any of a number of reasons - mainly that they're not vector formats.
This is a nightmare. Somebody please tell me that this is easy, and I'm just missing something!
Thank you.
