Hi all,

I am new to this forum just posting an issue I am currently having at work. I am an Instrumentation Eng Tech, we are currently having an issue whereby we have four Omega temperature transmitters setup to indicate the temperature at various locations in a bakery. We have thermocouples setup in the process to provide the temperature indication. The TX's are divided into four separate zones. Zone one is functioning properly, the digital display on the transmitter is consistent with the value shown on the HMI. The issue we are having is with Zone 2, when the purge period for the oven start-up finishes and the ovens turn on the display on the transmitter dims and power seems to be draining from the unit. In addition to this issue the HMI no longer reads a temperature for this zone. Any help as to potential troubleshooting we could try to correct this issue would be much appreciated.

I have also provided the manual for the type of transmitter we are using. Again any help in correcting this issue would be appreciated.

1) Did zone 2 ever work properly?

2) >In addition to this issue the HMI no longer reads a temperature for this zone.
If it doesn't read a temperature what does it read? I think you mean that it doesn't display the temperature you expect, but it still reads some temperature or an error code, which is ? ?

3) What is the rated capacity of the DC power supply that powers the transmitters?

What else does it power besides the 4 temperature transmitters?

When you put your DVM across the power supply terminals, what reading to you get
- in 'normal operation'?
- when 'the purge period for the oven start-up finishes and the ovens turn on'?

4) If you swap the transmitter from zone 1 to zone 2, what happens?

Check the voltage supply to the TX when the oven starts.
