Dear all,
I am trying to analyse an on and off ramps using vissim based on HCM criteria. I know vissim is not a tool to be used for lOS analysis. Let's assume I want to use vissim, so I am using link evaluation to measure the density. I am finding difficulty of understanding the location where I should measure the density; hcm uses it on the influence area = 1500 ft which includes the decelaration/acceleration Lane + a distance on the freeway. Should I find the density on two link segments in vissim ? Split the link so That I can measure density on acceleration/deceleration Lane + density on a short segment of the freeway.
I would appreciate your advice

Many thanks!
