Hi,

I have two questions on vortex computations.

Imagine that I've got a vortex ring in space. Each separate vortex bar is modelled with a circulation Gamma.

In order to prevent a singular point computing velocities by means of a Biot-Savart method, I included a viscous core with a linear velocity distribution upto a certain distance.

1 How can I decide on a realistic estimation of the viscous core size for each vortex bar?
- I expect it to depend on Re_chord at least

2 How can I take viscous dissipation into account?
- I am thinking about multiplying Gamma by a factor<1. for each time step, again as a function of the Reynolds number.

References to some literature on the issue are also very welcome.

Thanks,

Rik
