Hi all,
I have this core sampler and I'm a bit concerned about how to properly use IT for the evaluation of the soil bulk density. One of the two edges is sharp (cutting edge) and half inch below it and in the inner side, there is a mark (indicated in the picture in yellow). The mark is 5cm far from the non-cutting edge the same as the diameter of the cyclinder. I believe the cutting edge should be kept on top and the cyclinder should be hammered down till the soil surface gets the mark, right? I'm surprised that the cutting edge should not be in contact with soil which it should facilitate the cylinder penetration. Thanks
