Guys,

i think paramtric software is great, it's easy to graps/intuitive/redesigns are straightforeward and fast etcetera.

Now, the company i'm aplying for is using that OneSpace Design / Creo Elements thingy. How much of a (culture)shock will this be for someone used to parametric?

I only see downsides to NOT using parametric/history, how do these programs work in practice? What suits them? Is changing geometry not a pain?

Also, are these programs indeed non-history & non-parametric?

To me such programs seem more 'artistic' than anything else.

Feel free to enlighten me non-believer

The best thing to do is download the free version of Creo Elements and play with it for a while. If you keep an open mind you may be pleasantly surprised.

I haven't actually played with Elements, but I cut my 3D teeth on Co-Create (the foreunner of OneSpace and Elements), and although there has been much UI change, I would have no hesitation in using any of those versions ... even after 11 years on SW.

These programs scare the bejeezes out of me. With 90% of the part history trees I examine the logic is basically garbage. I am quite certain that 90% of users don't know what they are doing. Now what happens when there is no history to track/teach/fix the mistakes/carelessness/logic?

I think perfectly good work can be done in a non-history based modeler - but only 10% have the geometric apptitude to properly use the products. But when I show them - it is my poorest students who think these products are great.
