Hello All,

Can anyone make any suggestions as to good online courses offered by colleges/technical schools specific to learning more about electrical motors?
I am now involved with electrical motors but my background was PCB design - so I have some knowledge in electronics but the World of electric motors is new to me.
I deal primarily w/generator ends and smaller MG sets. I sure wouldn't be ashamed to take some online "beginner" courses and believe I would be quite comfortable with that (I have an good understanding of electricity).. Courses that relate to the more high-end theoretical stuff would leave me behind (Square Root of a Pound Cake)..
I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty but really don't have any teachers..

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

I am having the same issue too and that website helps a lot. Thank you. Does anyone know where can I learn about Vertical Hallow shaft (VHS) motors?

There are some good seminars out there also. Check out National Technology Transfer in Centennial Colorado.

I should add that I am a parttime instructor for NTT so I might be prejudiced!

Try EASA (Electrical Apparatus Service Association) in the US.
