This may be a total shot in the dark, but... I'm trying to learn how to work with OPC data access (DA) and historical data access (HDA). I'm coming accross a lot of .dll files for OPC automation. Does anyone know where I can find a breakdown of what these .dll files do? I know that I need to add some of these as reference libraries but I'm having trouble determining which are the ones that I need, or will I need all of them? Among those found are:
OPC Foundation:
OpcCmdPs.dll
OpcDxPs.dll
From Matrikon:
OPCAuto.dll
OPCDAAuto.dll
OPDHDAAuto.dll
opchda_ps.dll
PSTcfgps.dll
eximg.dll
OEM_Matrikon_OPC.dll
Is anybody familiar with these, or with OPC Automatioc through VBA?

Well, You can try banging your head against the wall, but you just end up with lost-time injuries and damaged equipment. [M. Passman]
