open *.cae file using newer older ABAQUS

hi, anyone got any idea, could I open *.cae file by using older ABAQUS, meaning to say I want to open V6.7 *.cae file by using ABAQUS 6.7. I did try do to this, but it doesn't work. please advise.

sorry, I meant open v6.7 *.cae file by using ABAQUS 6.5. thanks.

I can not think of a single program that would allow forward compatibility. I think your best bet is to write out an *.inp and import it to 6.5. You will end up with an orphan mesh and any new features to 6.7 will be lost. Hope this helps.

thanks rstupplebeen, that's what i've been doing, use the *.inp file, but still prefered to open *.cae file.
