When I open a session of Autocad 2000, when I try to close the default "drawing1.dwg" it will always prompt me to save the drawing even if I haven't done anything to it. This is also the same with any other drawing I open.

Is there a setting so that I can just close the default drawing or any other when I open it, without getting the "Save changes to ____" prompt? It seems like I have used Autocad2000 before without this problem.

It sounds to me like you have a startup application - such as acad.lsp, acad2000.lsp, s::startup or the like - placing something in the drawing space. Check these out if you haven't already done so.

Some command is being preformed by autocad whether you are actually doing something or not. It may be as hawkeye2 said about an .lsp file oor simply if you click a toolbar button and not actually draw something autocad will register that as a change to the drawing and prompt you to save

Hit "F2" and you might be able to see if anything unusual was loaded or ran.
