opening step file in NX 9.0

Hello All,

When i open the step file in NX 9.0, after closing one prt file is automatically generated on the step file location. How to avoid this?

I don't think you can. I think this is the way NX works when importing other file types.

NX opens the "step203ugnullnx90_mm.prt" ( If you run Metric) then imports the step data into this, saves the part and opens it in NX.

Rather than opening the STEP file(from file open command), you can create a temporary part file(don't save) and import(file import) that STEP file. Later you can save if you need or simply close that part.
