Hi,

I can't seem to open a SE part (drawn with V.16) with the older SE version V.15. I tried to export the V.16 part to IGES format and then open it with V.15., but the history is lost. Any ideas?

Regards,

Duc

Thanks for the direction.
There must be some solution to this problem, it appears that you can preview the SE V.16 part in window's environment, but can't seem to open it with SE V.15. Does anybody have any tricks?

ducums,
If you only want to view the file, try using Solid Edge Smartview. I think this will open any version.
It should also work for viewing and printing draft files.

The preview image is an imbedded Windows file type, which is why it shows up.

There is NO possible way to open a newer version file with an older version natively. IGES, STEP or the preferred X_T format is the only way, and the result is a featureless body.
