Yes, Ideas V8 will run on W2K and WNT.

Why are you installing an out-dated version?

I certainly hope that you are installing a legally licensed copy from EDS!

Hi,
Thanks for the help.
Its for our company, they had procured IDEAS long back but we dont use it. We use Pro/E instead.
I just wanted the information so that I could install and compare the two softwares.
Which one do you think is superior for modeling.

Unigraphics NX is superior to both Pro/E and Ideas.

No CAE system is superior to another - they just have advantages with respect to different applications.

Disagree. Some software programs are definately superior to others in certain areas. Take I-DEAS and Pro-E. What can you do in Pro-E quicker than you can do it in I-DEAS other than maybe logging on?

Ideas 8 m2 worked very well! Ideas8 m4 was worst!
