Operating WellHead Valves

Does anyone have literature on best practices related to operating wellhead valves? I am writing well operations procedures for a small field and need support for describing the startup or closure of wells, especially related to configurations in which there is a manual wing valve, SSV WV and a fixed choke or sand separator downstream that does not allow the normal "open and shut the well in direction of the flow".

Please feedback tips or information on protecting SSV's and well integrity through a good sequence of valve operations.
