Hello All.

I am trying to calculate the 'torque' in a friction stir spot welding simulation by using the formula
"Torque= integral of (radius*shear stress)dA".

I have divided the pin and shoulder part according to their dimensions. I have seen in the literature that shear stress=flow stress/sqrt(3).

My question is what is the output variable which is a measure of the flow stress? Is it 'Mises' under the 'stress' output variable or is it something else?

Any comments/suggestions are welcome.
NOTE- I'm doing a Abaqus/explicit simulation with dynamic,temp-disp,explicit step with Johnson-Cook material model and other necessary parameters.

Thanks in advance,
Ankit
