Optimization of frequency

I am trying to optimize frequency of a mechanical system using ABAQUS optimization module. is it possible? So far, I have not been able to find a way to do it.

I assume you mean a topology optimization and the eigenfrequency. This is possible. Use the Sensitivity-based method and you'll find the eigenfrequency as option when creating a design response. Then you can say that this is to be maximized or minimized as objective function.
