Wondering what types of alternative surfaces for fire lanes in the midwest some of you have used. We need to be able to remove snow from the lane in the chicago area. The client does not want the looped fire lane to look like a road in the back of the complex. Some ideas tossed around are: basic asphalt, turf pavers, center asphault walking path with turf pavers on either side to meet the required width. The latest idea is Fiber Turf Reinforcement, but it does not seem practicle for snow removal. Here is a link on it by the way Has anyone seen this done with snow removal?

So any suggestions or even locations would be great. Thanks for you time.
