Hello,
I'd like to know how the degres of freedom are ordered in the stiffness matrix when Ansys solves a static analysis (for example).I was thinking that the degres of freedom were ordered by nodeID but it seems to be ordered by elementsID as the matrix got blocks on the diagonal, and that the size of this block is accurate with the number of nodes of one element and with the number of degres of freedom of one node.
But the order of elementsID doesn't seem straight(1,2,3,4,...)
Does someone knows something about this?
Thank you.

I found the answer.
To be clearer. My initial problem was to get the stiffness and mass matrix and to know which term of the matrix correspond with which degre of freedom.
So

1. To get the matrix you have to use the command: file>List>binary_files>matrix and browse the .full file; after having solve an analysis ,for example modal to get both mass and stiffness matrix

2. To get the order of nodes and degres of freedom (nodal equivalence table)in the matrix, you have to use the command :
list>Binary_files>other and putting in
a. 'records to be list' : all records
b. 'amt for output per record':entire record

and then browse the .emats file. The nodes order will be the 5th record and the degre of freedom are ordered for each node by ux uy uz(in 3D), I don't know how it works with other types of degre of freedom.
For more precision read the : Guide to interfacing with Ansys.

Thanks to Jludvik answer in the thread: how to globe stiffness matrix?
