Ok, another problem understanding Catia V5 R9 (yes again its the old version).

When I make a detail or section view and want to make a large scale of this view. Catia seems to have the FULL frame size of the parent view. So when I place the scaled up detail/section view the frame is WAY passed the drawing format.

HOW do you get this from happening. Most software (Solidworks, Pro-E) only keep the detail/section area sized around what you want viewed NOT the whole original view.

IS there a way to maybe change this?

Thanks

I think that we all need to be realistic, and understand that you are asking for free help on a pirated copy of software. (to which you have admitted)

The least that your "employer" can do, after stealing software, is to pay for training. That would be the LEAST.

Designmr - with all due respect - I don't think you should be asking anymore questions here, and I don't think that anyone should be giving you anymore answers.

Solid7, I appreciate your honesty. I really wish I could say something to what you mentioned, but....

I tell you had I known that is company ran this way, which the hiring manager NEVER mentioned things were like this. I NEVER WOULD HAVE taken this job. In fact we were suppose to go to Solidworks (they said), which I do know quite well.

This owner "DRIVEN" company, is just TOO DARN old school, he doesn't like, in his words "WASTE MONEY" on things like software and even doing drawing.

So, while I have been asking for help here, I have been in a deep search for a REAL ENGINEERING TYPE job.

Your right the few companies I have worked for ALWAYS offer some kind of CAD training, but NOT here.

Thanks everyone for your help on questions I have asked.

Manuel

Thanks, I am looking hard.

THIS is just too darn crazy to work this way....TOO CRAZY.

The few here in the engineering/design area are just TOO FRUSTRATED with this.

What part of the world are you interested in? What field? Degreed or non-degreed designer?

I'm in So. Calif (more Northern Los Angeles area).

Anything in mechanical, I've worked Aerospace, Sem-conductor, a couple commerical, never medical.....

Non-degreed designer, main software of choice, SOLIDWORKS. Though I have used Pro-E, Solidworks is my main choice.

WELL people, I am NO LONGER USING CATIA.....

Just started a NEW GREAT company, and I am NOW USING SOLIDWORKS 2006 (soon 2007), YES these are registered versions at this new COMPANY.

JUST THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP, and HOPE TO ASK maybe new questions if needed.

THANKS Solid7.....that was definately the worse 11 month's of my life on the job......

Plus this company is half the distance from home and alittle more money. But to be able to use Solidworks again, that is the best.

Thanks again for you help and understanding before.
