orphan mesh

Hello all,

I have imported my meshed part in ABAQUS. The feature shows - "orphan mesh".
This makes the instance dependent and I can't change it to independent.
I want to define my element type in mesh module. But since instance is dependent. it doesn't allow me to do it.
I am doing SOILS modelling , so I need to define element type as pore elements.
I would appreciate your help to solve my problem. ( I think either I need to remove element type as orphan or is there any way to change my element type)

Fortunately for you, I think its just a matter of adding the letter P to the element type in the input file.
