Dear all,
I have imported a part from the .odb file using the import part option. But when i run a simulation using this part, i am getting an error message that says that this imported part has no properties defined to it.
And i have made sure that properties are assigned to it by using the section assignment.
My question is, i know that orphan mesh is a mesh with no geometry attached, but still has nodes and elements and we can use this part to instance in an assembly and apply loads to it as any other part. But when such an part is imported as an orphan part, then what happens to the properties? does it inherit the same properties as in it's native form or properties have to be assigned afresh? can they be assigned afresh ?
thanks in advance
Raag

Make sure that the assembly into which you import the part has the same name as the original assembly from the original analysis.
