Hello everyone

according to ABAQUS user manual , for an orthotropic material with engineering constant we should define it this way :
getfile.aspx

while in some papers , there are simplifications like A12 , D12 and so are assumed as zero , I wanted to know according to the formulation that we have to follow by ABAQUS , can we enter some parameters zero and get the right result ?

No.

But then, what is "the right result"?

And even entering values for all of the parameters does not necessarily mean the model will produce "the right result"

Thank you , but could you elaborate please , when I have the values of A matrix as A11,A22,A66,D11 ,D22and D66 , are they equivalent with the values in Abaqus ? I mean the D1111 and so ? if not how are they converted ?
