Hi,

I want to know if i know the following properties of orthotropic laminae:
Ex(fiber direction), Ey(transverse direction), NUxy,NUyz,Gxy,Gyz.
Is it possible to calculate the NUxz and Gxz?

Amir

If I understand the question right, I think this response will help:

Typically, the material properties (for a single composite layer or lamina) are taken to be the same in both the Y and Z (transverse) directions, since they are both resin dominated properties. While the fiber does have a set of transverse properties, they really make minimal contribution to the strength on the macroscopic scale.

This is typically good enough for most composite applications.
