Hy guys,
i'm new in a power plant in electrical department and lot of instrumentations are relatively new for me.
In particular we have Alsthom M87X oscillopertubographe (sincerly i don't know either if this is a real technincal name of this device that is an IED instrumentation).

I'd like to know better this device, and for this i'm going to read the manual, but i'd like to make analisys correctly when needed.
For this reasons i'd like to know if there are some literature, online examples or any other source where i can find some examples of real problems cathed form This device in order to analyze it and try to understandt the problem on a real case.

Yes, it is an existing name for a disturbance recorder in electrical transmission systems. Not a joke, which some guys may think it is.

The Alstohm device is an extremely (in my view, at least) developped disturbance recorder and I have never been close to operating/using one. But the device does exist and is closely connected to IEC 61850, which in itself needs lots of knowledge and understanding to use correctly.

In my view, the M87X needs quite some time, plus a good understanding of electrical faults as well as the IEC 61850 to get acquainted with.

Study the manual, talk to experienced people and try to assist at a seminar at Alstohm.

This is what exactly i want to do but i'd like to found a way to do...

Do you have any literature (not the manual where lot parts of the row talking about how to configure M87X) i can take a look where there are some examples of real (or simulated) problems i can reveal with this devioce?
Furthermore i'd like to talk with experienced people and i think the forum is the best place.

I'm already ask to my boss to have a course for Alsthom but i think this will need lot time

BTW, would it be better with French documentation? Not that I have any, but that language seems to be a natural choice in this case.

I have never heard of "Alsthom M87X oscillopertubographe", but the M87x rang a bell. This product is now owned by Novatech. I set a few of these up as meters / event recorders last fall. They were
fairly straightforward to work with.

I had to call Novatech for the configuration SW and was able to speak with a competent tech support person and have my issues resolved within minutes.

i've not find big info on the link you suggest but from there i found other link with some informations and chase history.

I have already read in order to well begin in disturbance line analisys i need to know well all system basics as braker, protections and so on..

I think i need to investigate in all directions.
