The above quoted item refers to wellsite facility design distance requirements when loading liquids. The paragraph quoted references that "tank vehicle or tank car loading shall be separated from above ground tanks, warehouses, other plant buildings or nearest line of adjoining property" based on the class (1,2, or 3) of the liquid. The distance decreasing as the liquid class lowers due to the liquid's volatility and chance for ignition (I am assuming).
The question arose if fixed pipe is required by this distance vs using hoses? What is the interpretation of the above paragraph? Must I use fixed pipe?? If the spec addresses ignition (my assumption for the distance), why couldnt hoses provide the needed distance??
Thanks in advance.
