NX 6.0.3.6 It appears that the Chamfer Dimension only works for chamfers that are 45°. Am I wrong? How do you make an associative chamfer dimension for chamfer angles other than 45°?

Change the "Cross Section" option from "Symmetric" to "Asymmetric" or "Offset and Angle".

Right, during the creation of the feature in modeling. I am talking about applying the chamfer dimension in drafting.

When creating them in modeling or when documenting them in drafting?

ewh, the OP is probably talking about adding associative chamfer dimensions in Drafting. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to the question.

Righto, I read the question too quickly. Sorry about that.
Are your drawings IAW ASME Y14.5? The standard specifies that the only chamfer that may be defined with a chamfer note is one that is 45°. Other chamfers are to be dimensioned using a linear dimension and an angle or two linear dimensions. NX meets the standard in this regard.

I don't have time to try it right now, but I wonder if you customize one of the drafting standards included, NX may let you dimension a chamfer other than 45 degrees.

If you have chamfer not of .05 x 30(deg_sym), which face is the angle measured from? I know it would be obvious by looking at the drawing, but it may not always be. Y14.5 has a reason that you must dimension the vertical and horizontal directions.
