hello folks,
We have got 2 Gen set supplying 3.3 MW, 6.6 KV each .the power system subjects to instability or unbalance in delivered powers between turbines for a mechanical problems .That lead to tripping of one turbine followed by the other .
Can fixing an out-of-step protection helps ?

Review and verify the governor settings on both turbines.
If the governors do not have the same stability characteristics or are do not have the same droop, you will have problems with block loading.
Check that both turbine respond the same to the same control changes.
Check your trip settings versus the actual trip points.
Your problem may be mechanical or electrical.
Under mechanical would be governor response and the engine response to governor demands for more fuel.
This includes settings on electronic governors.
Under electrical problems would be the trip settings.
Do the settings match on both sets?
Are your protective devices functioning properly, or is a protection relay failing and tripping too soon?
