I am building a metal pan outdoor stair. It is not a open riser stair. I am concerned about the water accumulation. Should I drill holes thru the metal pan so that water can go thru?

Is there other ways to solve the drainage problem?

Thanks a lot!

Can't you have a small slope in the treads to drain the water off?

Hi, Bagman2524,

Thank you so much for the response.

Yes, I am thinking to slope the treads and leave a small gap between the tread and stringer for drainage.

I am just not sure how difficult it is to set the slope and am wondering if someone has other ideas.
