I am not sure what is the outer point of a single pair tooth contact and what is the inner point of a single pair tooth contact (these phrases are mentioned in different sections of ISO 6336-2 and 6336-3). It is very confusing as every tooth contact point would be an outer point to one gear and at the same time an inner point to the other gear. There is no drawing in either standard to clarify this.

Unfortunately I'm not intimately familiar with those ISO standards. But it sounds like the same thing that AGMA refers to as highest point of single tooth contact (HPSTC) and lowest point of single tooth contact (LPSTC). Do an online search of gear term definitions and you'll find plenty of information.
