Hopefully this all makes sense. I am modeling a catch basin in Hydraflow Hydrographs. There is an 18" culvert as the outlet structure. The problem I am running into is that this works for the 100-yr storm event, but the smaller more frequent storm events blow right through the culvert.

I am fresh out of college so I asked around the office. The direction I was given at work was to make the culvert a 24" and try two different orifices, one on bottom and one towards the top. I tried to do this but Hydraflow adds the orifice to the riser, not the culvert, so the the outflow gets even larger. Any suggestions?

Without a picture of what it is you are modeling it is going to be very difficult to answer your question. Also, Hydraflow is no longer supported by Intelisolve.... Sadly!

You might try modeling your outlet in HydroCad and then if you have questions post them on the HydroCad forum on this site.

good luck
