Hi,

Could someone tell me what is the name of the variable for mechanical pressure in a dynamic, explicit simulation? Sorry that I searched the Analysis manual but did not find anything similar to what I need. Thanks!

In addition, I see "ERV" is volumetric strain rate? Could someone elaborate a little what exactly it is? There is another variable, "ER", which is the mechanical strain rate. What are the differences?

Thanks a lot!!

When you plot stress, pressure is given as an invariant of the stress tensor field.

For contact pressure (normal contact stress) plot CPRESS.

Any 2nd order tensor (e.g. stress, strain and their rates) can be written as the sum of their volumetric and deviatoric part.

A_ij=D_ij+V_ij , i,j=1,2,3

V_ij=(A_11+A_22+A_33)/3 , if i=j
V_ij=0, otherwise
