we are using overflow weir box on the water tank (designed follow API 650)
as seen on the attachment, the overflow pie diameter 1s 1200 mm
The boz size is 3m x 3m x 3m
can we evaluate the load on the tank shell that is connected with overflow box using nozzle pro..
peaase advise if other any software thant can be used to evaluate the integrity on this tank shell

I doubt any kind of software is going to cover this specific geometry.
Use FEA or approximate methods.
Consider minimizing the box volume to reduce loads.

My toughts ,

- Copy and paste from AWWA D100 ( Welded Carbon Steel Tanks for Water Storage )
'' The overflow shall have a capacity at least equal to the specified inlet rate, with a head above the lip of the overflow of not more than 12 in. (304 mm) for side-opening overflows and not more than 6 in. (152 mm) for other types of overflows.' The size of overflow pipe (1200 mm) implies the weir box designed outside the tank with only side entry and weir box size selected 3m x 3m x 3m. If you try interior weir box with four sides entry you will get more reasonable sizes(say 1500 mm X 1500 mm).

- You may consider internal funnel as an option,

- If the only option external weir box with the sizes is 3m x 3m x 3m, you may FEM model the tank shell and weir box .
