We have a small boiler that has developed oxygen pitting. The boiler is of carbon steel construction and is 6 years old. I need to determine what the remaining life of the boiler is and the probability of its failure over time. It is difficult to do a ultra sound thickness test due to the size of the boiler. Can anybody recommend a method to determine the remaining life of the boiler and the probability of failure over the next few years?
Thanks

what is the most loaction of the boiler that supjected to the pitting.

I was under the impression that pitting corrosion did not allow for safe estimates on remaining life.

Hopefully, for you, I'm wrong.
