It is a crushed rock base course which meets FAA requirements. I would guess that if acceptable to your state DOT, probably also acceptable for P-209.

what info do you need?

i need to know if it is possible to get 100% compaction easily or if will be a nightmare

shouldn't be any more difficult than any other type of roadway base material. This is a well graded crushed rock, most passing 1" and with minimal fines. Normally, 95% compaction is adequate for under runways.

Achieving 100% compaction on base rock is more about finesse than brute force. I’ve had good results using a rubber tired asphalt roller. Place the base in 6” to 8” lifts, add water until the material is a little juicy, then make about 6 to 8 (actual number may vary) passes with the rubber tired roller, finish with a single pass with a smooth drum vibratory roller (just to smooth things out). Avoid excess handling of the material; this can cause segregation which will not help your density.

100% is doable if the preceeding layer is good enough. Only 1 or 2% increase per lift is possible so work the subgrade. Optimum moisture is hard to maintain, so keep the water wagons in the fill, (vs the haul roads).
