I have a P-4 data report that lists a material specification as SA 299N. I cannot find any information on what the N after the number stands for. Any thoughts?

If this is really an N instead of an M, based on the scope of the ASME SA 299 specification, I believe the "N" would imply a normalized condition for this plate material. My rationale for the N indicating normalized is that there is only one grade for this plate specification, SA 299.

I double checked and there certainly is an "N" on the report. I was leaning in that direction anyway but I'm glad to hear that would be the case.

Does the report state somewhere that the material was normalized?
