Dear Sir/Madam
Positon in a P&ID don’t correspond to a 3D position. Therefore, the min. distance (yellow mark) in this P&ID seems weired (please see the attach document).

Could anyone please help me what is the difference if this mim. distance is extend to the top line (the triangle break point)?

Thank you so much for your help.

The distance is important on the piping isometric. The intent is to have the double block and bleed valve arrangement closely coupled such as fitting makeup.

Hey hswang2,

It is almost certainly a minor mistake on the drawing which you have recognized- the minimum distance dimension line should run back to the tee.

best wishes,
Sean

There seems to be a lot missing here:
- What are the line sizes"
- What is the line Class (Flange rating)?
- What is the Commodity?
- What do the little "Delta" flags mean?

And yes there is an inconsistency with the "Min" notes. Some runs have it and some do not.

The "delta" flags usually mean a line number break i.e - the start of a new line number.

SeanB,
You said "The "delta" flags usually mean a line number break i.e - the start of a new line number."

I sure hope you are wrong.

With what I see on the original posters attachment it would show some real bad places to break or start line numbers.

I love guessing games on P&ID's. In 6SA0S87 and 1CB2S91 the code is first digit is line size, the next letter is construction materials, the next is class A=ANSI 150, B ANSI 300..., the next number is unknown. The next letter is fluid material. The last 2 are unique numbers for the line.

Seriously, the min comment and the long triangle are warnings the process engineer have on slope and distance

Pennpiper some companies assign a new line number to every branch regardless of whether or not there is a design condition change or not. From the limited amout of information we have this would appear to be the case with this P&ID.

Or maybe hswang2 can tell us what this "delta flag" really means??
Thanks

Dear Si
delta flag is means the class break of the pipe.
If the no. of pipe will be changed in the next line,
it should be put the delta flag in the connection.

Thank you

thanks for the star but i'm not sure to deserve it..
