P&ID: one piece of equipment, multiple representations on P&ID sheets

I am seeking assistance on a P&ID issue involving the same equipment appearing at multiple locations on P&ID sheets.

Ex. One tank is shown on three separate sheets, with process instrumentation differing slightly on each representation of the tank. (three pumps off of same tank and , therefore, three separate lines/processes).

I'm having little luck in identifying any regulations or codes which apply to this situation (US chemical production industry).

My experience says list the tank on one sheet with connecting arrows to the appropriate additional sheets.

Any assistance in locating guidance docs would be GREATLY appreciated.
