Dear Members,

Does anybody knows why different P.Number is assigned to the same material for welding and brazing as we see QW-422 in Section IX?
For example SA-36 (the first material of QW-422) is assigned P.No.1 for welding but P.No.101 for brazing.

Because the committee that is responsible for book section IX of the ASME B&PV Code wanted to establish that brazing (joining with no base metal melting) and welding (base metal melting) are two completely separate processes when it comes to qualification.
