Can anyone point me to some good sources of information on any research that either has been done or is being done on the P5B piping materials (e.g. P91, P92, P122, etc.)? Some specific areas of interest are performing post weld heat treatment at various temperatures, and if a lower limit has been found where, below which, there is not sufficient carbide growth to ensure that proper microstructure.
Another area of interest is what effect grinding has on the P5B material. One example of this is if a weld has a lack of fusion in the root, and the welder grinds out the weld to start over. Does the grinding action apply sufficient amount of heat to the material to alter the microstructure?
