Paint repair

Hi all,

Observation: Paint flaking/getting peeled off easily( white metal is visible now)
Equipment: Piping(HDG)+ epoxy mastic coating( 3 coats)

We want to repair these peeled off areas. Is there any standards which describes how much area to be removed(Surface preparation) for the repair these damages?

I don't know if this is an issue, but with HDG, you have to be careful of the coating system. Zinc saponification can occur and lead to a coating failure.
