Hi everyone!

I am new to this forum and I'm looking for some help; this forum has been a great source of information for me in the past. The help I require is in deciphering a paint specification found on a DASH 8-300 drawing for a lavatory interior. The lavatory interior is listed as manufactured by C&D zodiac, but I am unable to find any information from either C&D or De Havilland/Bombardier Aerospace as to what this paint spec is. What's more, our paint suppliers can't make heads or tails of it.

The paint spec on the drawing is listed exactly as follows:

FINISH: C1 + F19
PAINT SPEC: 83-01-027-GA GREY CLOUD DA2.8 (VISIBLE SIDE ONLY) - C&D LAVATORY INTERIOR

It doesn't seem to line up with any of the current Boeing paint specs.

Has anyone seen a paint spec like this?

Thanks,

jkort

GREY CLOUD DA2.8 seems to be a pretty common color. Have you contacted European paint suppliers? Airbus seems to make use of this color:

Are you even looking for the color spec or the paint content spec?

Why would you try Boeing? Bombardier has their own specification system, almost as complete as Boeing's. C&D have supplied interiors for Bombardier/Canadair/Devhavilland for a long time, and they have their own proprietary specs for paints, adhesives, fasteners, and so on (ad nauseum). You'll probably have to contact C&D Zodiac directly. I have heard that customer support is not prompt at times. The August long-weekend in Canada may make the situation worse. You could also try Dehavilland/Bombardier customer support since they have access to this information, too.
Was the lavatory supplied with a Component Maintenance Manual (CMM)? In my experience they do that for all of their major products. This could help identify these sorts of "consumable materials" without calling the OEM so often.
