Hi,

I am looking for answer , if I have to choose a paint for repair on flow line which is already in Service with high Surface Temperature (around 90 deg. C).Is Intertherm228HS is a good option Or not.

Do Flash Point of Intertherm228HS arouse any safety concern for Hot pipeline to be painted.

Thanks

Sandeep_A,

It is against posting policies to double post. You may want to flag one of your posts and have it removed. Considering your question is paint related, I would leave the question in the paint forum and remove the one in B&PV.

For that high a temperature, you need to 'shut it down' or find an alternative coating. I've used the proposed coating and it is good, but, as david noted, it's not to be applied to such a hot surface.

Not to encourage the practice, but, if I'm not sure an unusual question will be reviewed in one forum, I'll occasionally post it in a couple of forums. If I see a question that has been posted in two forums, if I'm able to, I'll at least try to answer it in one of them.

You need to talk to a coating specialist... some salespeople (for the gals here) have quite good technical sales personnel... else talk to one of the chemists.

As mentioned in the other post, look for something specifically designed to be hot applied. There's probably countless products but the only one I've "worked" with is HiTemp 1027, think it's a PPG product.

If you're already looking to use Intertherm check with AkzoNobel regarding their other product lines, maybe one can solve your problem.

Thanks,
Ehzin
